XAMPP / Laragon Migrator

Switching development environments used to mean hours of exporting databases, copying files, re-configuring virtual hosts, and fighting with PHP versions.
Kythia Workspace solves this with the built-in Migrator—a powerful tool designed to seamlessly import all your data from legacy environments like Laragon, XAMPP, or MAMP with just a few clicks.
How to Migrate
The Migrator intelligently scans your PC for installed runtimes and legacy project directories, allowing Kythia to seamlessly take over as your master environment controller.
Open the Migrator
Navigate to Migrator in the sidebar. Kythia will automatically scan your system for legacy environments like Laragon, XAMPP, and standalone toolchains.
Migrate Runtimes
In the Runtimes tab, you will see detected toolchains (like PHP or Node.js).
- Select whether you want to Copy or Move them.
- Click Migrate to transfer the binaries into Kythia's internal engine.
- Kythia can also automatically clean up your old Windows PATH variables and take over routing globally.
Migrate Projects
Switch to the Projects tab to view detected legacy web folders (e.g., C:\laragon\www).
- Click Migrate to move or copy these folders into your active Kythia Document Root.
- Once migrated, Kythia will automatically discover them and assign local
.testdomains.
Post-Migration Checklist
- Verify your sites are listed in the Sites tab.
- Check that your CLI works correctly (e.g., run
php -vin your terminal to ensure Kythia took over the PATH). - Once you are confident everything works, you can safely uninstall your old XAMPP/Laragon to free up disk space!
